No Rain, No Flowers’ on film, NRNF the process. November 2024
memories, musings, sensations, inspirations; whatever the vice, artists draw boundlessly from physical realms all the way to spiritual realms. Transmuting meaning, essence, and feeling into something that can be perceived or experienced. Ultimately I like to imagine we are alchemists and alchemy is our craft.
Attached to the concepts of metamorphosis and alchemy, I wanted to create something tactile that transformed and combined materials from past projects to become my NRNF piece.
Subconsciously, in fear of having nothing or loosing evidence of past creative endeavours, items often accumulate for me with no purpose other than to serve as physical (abandoned) highlight reels. So despite facing some personal shifts and starting as an emotionally charged project, NRNF also ended as a somatic reminder to physically let go. disruption, transformation, flow, repeat

Using “death of creative chapters” as a metaphor for “death of life chapters,” this piece repurposes materials from past projects, drawing parallels to our cyclical nature in taking what once consumed our entire existence and allowing that to become wisdom for what’s next.
